Introduction and research, Interior Location
Interior Location Train Station Photography
For the Interior Location Assignment I have chosen to photograph Train Stations. The reason I became interested in this was I felt I could be creative with my Images. All of the images I will take will be shown in black and white which will show contrast better and also help to create atmosphere. I will explore different photographic techniques such as short depth of field, shutter speed, high and low veiw point, use of sunlight and a creative composition.
The Photographers I have chosen to study are from Scott Photographics inspiration and I have also studied two Images taken by Steve Mccury,
Research
The Image above (top left) was taken from PDR photostream. The photograph displays a good example of an interesting veiw point and short depth of field. The reason I have chosen to study this photograph is that one of my own objectives for the interior assignment is to take more creative shots and use various view points. I have also experimented with short depth of field with one of my Images where I photographed a women walking down stars towards the train platform.
The second image is called ....... and the photographer has altered the shutter speed to create movement. The photographer has also captured a person sitting waiting for a train who looks transparant this technique works well and creates more interest. In some of the photographs I have taken I have also altered the shutter speed to create movement. Most of the photographs I have taken have shown movement of people walking around the train station and I have mainly focused on photographing people rather than trains.
The Image above is called Wedding in Italian Train Station matrimonio alla stazione.
The photograph is one that I find interesting as it has been taken from an angle above looking downwards at a couple kissing. The image is also shown in black and white which looks dramatic. In my own Images I have chosen to photograph in black and white to portray drama. In one of the photographs I have taken I have also photographed looking downwards, which allows the image to be seen from a more interesting and creative angle. During this assignment I wanted to produce photographs that were different and original by altering the position of the camera.
