Exterior Location Photography Research,John Sexton

                                             John Sexton

One of the photographers I have chosen to study during the brief is John Sexton. John sexton was born in 1953 and studied at Cypress College Associate of Arts with honours, Sexton has taught at numerous photographic workshops and has also lectured at many museums and universities. His work has been shown at numerous exhibitions and has been the subject in many articles in the photographic press. John Sexton has photographed various parts of landscape, but I have taken a particular interest in his images of sunlight coming through trees. During this assignment I have found Sextons work to influence my own work. Some test shots I have taken of woodland trees I have  also captured sunlight coming through trees.

In both the photographs below John sexton has shown examples of different textures and good contrast. He has used different elements of nature and focused on detail, by placing the fern leaf over the log (bottom left) has allowed the leaf to stand out. In the second image the background is dark against the leaves which create contrast. Some  shots I have taken for my final piece of work were taken at Tatton Park. The photographs are taken of leaves in a puddle of water I have also looked at showing the detail of leaves and the contrast of colours.
